For more than a decade, Piscina has grown from a shared workshop into a working cooperative supporting more than forty independent artists, designers, and craftspeople at any given time. What exists today was not conceived all at once. It developed gradually, through shared resources, collaboration, and the accumulated knowledge of the people who have worked here.

Places like Piscina have long been part of the cultural life of cities. Their value lies not only in the physical space they provide, but in what becomes possible when people work alongside one another over time: skills are exchanged, resources are shared, relationships develop, and new work takes form. These communities can take years to build, while the spaces that support them are rarely afforded the same permanence.

We are currently pursuing the purchase of the building we call home. Ownership is not the goal in itself, but a means of giving Piscina the stability to continue evolving. It would allow us to preserve the workshops, spaces, and community that already exist here while investing in what they might become.

Our ambition is to establish Piscina as a permanent piece of cultural infrastructure: a place where artists, designers, and craftspeople can work independently while benefiting from the resources and knowledge of a larger creative community, and where that community has the time and stability to develop over decades.

This page marks the beginning of that effort. As our plans develop, we welcome conversations with individuals, foundations, institutions, and mission-aligned partners interested in helping shape the future of Piscina.
