Anniversary is the first solo exhibition by Studio CareFree, the collaborative practice of Caroline Doyle and Free Tripp. Developed over the course of their first year of marriage, the collection considers the home as a repository of memory and furniture as a means of giving lasting form to the objects, rituals, and relationships that shape our experience of home.

Working within a longstanding tradition of objects made to commemorate and preserve, Doyle and Tripp handcraft furniture through traditional joinery, carving, casting, and ceramic relief, treating the rituals and experiences of their own lives with the significance of personal mythology.

Marriage chests, quilts, silver, wardrobes, and other objects of domestic life have long carried the material traces of ceremony and human connection. Their significance lies not only in what they contain, but in the devotion invested in their making. Collected over generations, these objects form the architecture of memory.
