Anniversary is the first solo exhibition by Studio CareFree, the collaborative practice of Caroline Doyle and Free Tripp. Developed over the course of their first year of marriage, the collection considers the home as a repository of memory and furniture as a means of giving lasting form to the objects, rituals, and relationships that shape our experience of home.
Marriage chests, quilts, silver, wardrobes, and other domestic furnishings have long carried the material traces of ceremony and human conection. Their significance lies not only in what they contain, but in the devotion invested in their making. Collected over generations, these objects form the architecture of memory.
Working within this tradition, Doyle and Tripp have handcrafted furniture and objects, treating them with the significance of a kind of personal mythology. Through traditional joinery, carving, casting, and ceramic relief, the collection references historical furniture typologies through a contemporary lens.
